The Alexander Bürkle Group: Wholesale of electrical goods.

1900 Company established by Alexander Bürkle.    
1910 Founding member of the Federal Association of Electrical Wholesalers (VEG).    
1929 After Alexander Bürkle’s death Paul Ege sen and Albert Fischer take over the company as equal partners.    
1951 Death of Paul Ege sen.    
1960 Opening of the first branch in Constance/Germany. (1971 Move to Radolfzell/Germany)    
1961 Paul Ege takes over as C.E.O.    
1965 New build and purchase of the present head office in Freiburg/Germany    
1973 Founding of the purchasing and marketing co-operation DEHA.    
1989 Takeover of the French electrical wholesalers CEFC, Belfort/France. (Change of company’s name to Alexander Burkle S.A with head office in Wittenheim/Mulhouse)    
1993 Takeover of electrical wholesalers RUF Elektrohandel, Mannheim/Germany.    
1994 Retirement of Alexander Fischer, co-partner and grandson of company founder. His share in the company is taken over by Martin and Andreas Ege.    
1994 Founding of the European purchasing and marketing cooperation IDEE.    
1996 Martin und Andreas Ege become the company’s executive officers.    
1997 Founding of the Holding "AB Management & beteiligungsgesellschaft" as the future parent company of the Alexander Bürkle Group.    
1998 Opening of the first "Electro City" in Freiburg as a new concept for self service.    
1999 Paul Ege retires from management.    
2000 Company’s 100th Birthday party with over 2000 guests.    
2000 Introduction of the successful online shop.    
2001 Start-up of the new central warehouse in Freiburg/Germany.    
2003 Takeover of the electrical wholesalers Emil Ratz, Pforzheim/Germany.    
2004 Opening of the "Kunstraum Alexander Bürkle" by the Mayor Dr. Salomon.    
2005 Takeover of electrical wholesalers "Elektro-SB Rhein-Main", Flörsheim/Germany.    
2006 Start –up of the new cable storage and central warehouse in Freiburg.    
2007 Introduction of the new EDP-System "SQL-Business".    
2007 Merger of Elektro-SB Rhein-Main with Alexander Bürkle.    
2007 Introduction of the new image and corporate design of the Alexander Bürkle Group.
