Ever since it was founded as an initiative led by Paul Ege in 1998, "Wir helfen Kindern e.V."("Help the Children (registered society)") has been supporting underprivileged children in the whole of the Alexander Bürkle distribution catchment area. Together with voluntary workers from all of our branches it becomes possible to help form a net in which children from disadvantaged backgrounds can be caught. The main focus of our work is aimed at special schools and schools for the homeless but also in creating homes for the protection of children and much more. further information » |

Alexander Bürkle GmbH & Co. KG supports the "Baden-Württembergische Ensemble-Akademie Freiburg e.V." (Baden-Wuerttemberg Ensemble Academy Freiburg (registered society)), a joint initiative of the Freiburg baroque orchestra and the "ensemble recherche". Part of the aim is to help establish a rehearsal area for both of these globally recognized top ensembles through the conversion St. Elisabeth’s church in Freiburg-Zähringen. Another of the non-profit making organisation’s objectives since 2004 has been to run annual master classes for early and contemporary music which attracts participants from all over the world to Freiburg every year. Since the end of last year the Alexander Bürkle Group from Freiburg has embarked on an entirely new path in its commitment to the Ensemble Academy and its sponsoring of music. Within the framework set out for long term cooperation with the "ensemble recherche", which is one of the most high profile ensembles for contemporary music in Germany, the focus has intentionally been less on sponsoring one-off projects but rather more on specific purpose, long term and future support for composers as well as performers. With this being the case, the Alexander Bürkle Group has contractually committed itself to paying the nonet soloist ensemble a preset sum to be used exclusively for commissioned compositions. Having been appointed by Brian Ferneyhough, one of the most sought after composers world wide, the ensemble recherche is currently planning to fund the assignment using the Alexander Bürkle Group’s contributions. further information » |

As of 2007 the Alexander Bürkle art prize consisting of 7,500 euros worth of donations from the Alexander Bürkle Group is going to be awarded to budding young artists every two years. The only decisive criteria for this funding are that the artist’s prior development demonstrates promise in terms of anticipated contributions to the contemporary art world. Candidates may not be over 35 and should have just completed their studies. Lastly, candidates should be from the so called ‘regions’ triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland or at least be working there. further information » |
